Recruitment at a time of crisis.

Message from the editor.

We are living in unprecedented times. The onset of the coronavirus has already altered the business world, the world of employment and beyond and will continue to do so. Employees are working from home, businesses both large and small are considering their response, whole sectors are worried about the future and the government is making daily announcements which change the playing field and seek to support the nation.

The recruitment industry will undoubtedly be hit, but it will still be a vital part of the country’s ongoing campaign and it will be at the forefront of the recovery when the current crisis and restrictions are over.

The shape of the world of work, in the UK and beyond will be different. The skills, aptitudes, roles required of this country’s talent will be different and are as yet unknown. The recruitment industry needs to be agile, informed and ready for anything.

The Global Recruiter will be here to reflect, inform and support the industry at this time. We will continue to collate and publish the news, features, opinions, and developments of the recruitment industry as and when they occur. We have always been part of the industry and that will continue, particularly at one of the most important times for everyone.

We want to hear your stories, opinions, ideas, and news of any kind. Please get in touch with me at simon@theglobalrecruiter.com.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be asking for your responses to events, as they happen and I’ll look forward to hearing from you all.
