Recruitment company celebrates 10 years

Global boutique recruitment business Ambition is celebrating 10 years in business this year. The company recently marked the occasion by hosting a black tie event for over 100 clients, candidates, employees and alumni.

Ambition was originally founded in Australia by CEO Nick Waterworth and Co-Founder Paul Lyons in 1998 and has since grown to become a global business with further offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. The London branch was launched in 2008 following the acquisition of Witan Jardine.
Now, 10 years on from Ambition’s launch in London, the UK business has gone from strength to strength and has been refocused to specialise purely in Professio-nal Services recruitment, covering; Finance & Accounting, Business Development & Marketing, Insolvency & Restructuring, Corporate Finance and Busi-ness Support.

“We have lived through some significant times during the last 10 years, a GFC which rocked the world and most recently Brexit, the impact of which still remains to be seen,” said managing director Nicky Acuna Ocana, who joined Ambition on the day of the acquisition back in 2008 said: “As a company, we have come out of these tough times a more focused and agile business. We have faced the chal-lenges head on by staying true to our key areas of specialisms, adopting an inch wide, mile deep strategy and achieving our vision of being the go to Professional Services consultancy in our core business areas. I believe this is a true reflection of where our UK business is at today, and I feel lucky and proud to be in a position to lead Ambition in London.”

The party was held in the beautiful Terrace Room at Le Meridien Hotel in Piccadilly and was decorated with an abundance of greenery to reflect Ambition’s branding – including on-brand green cupcakes and bespoke ‘Ambition’ green cocktails.

CEO Nick Waterworth said; “What makes Ambition London thrive ten years on is the people in our team, their incredible dedication, ability to get the basics right, and absolute commitment to consistently providing a great service. And these aren’t just nice words from the CEO – our people truly live by our mission of Building Better Futures.”

Addressing the guests on the night, Acuna Ocana said; “We wouldn’t have such a fantastic, inclusive culture without the people that work at Ambition. Our employees are the beating heart of our company. Every one of you plays an important part in our success and uniqueness, and you continue to make an impact on a daily ba-sis.”

She added: “To our candidates and clients, thank you for your continued support. We really couldn’t do our jobs without the trust and the strong relationships that we have with you. I look forward to being part of Ambition and seeing what the future holds as we continue to flourish and develop over the next 10 years and beyond.”
