Compliance Shouldn’t Be Another Supplier. It Should Be a Partnership.

Recruitment businesses don’t need another system, another login or another supplier promising to make compliance easier. They need processes that work, technology they can trust and, importantly, people they can actually speak to when they need support.

In our previous article, we looked at the changes to Right to Work requirements and why recruitment businesses should be reviewing their approach to identity verification and onboarding.

But understanding the legislation is only half the challenge. The other half is making compliance work in the real world. Recruitment is fast-paced. Candidates need onboarding quickly, clients expect workers on site and consultants don’t want unnecessary administration standing between a vacancy and a placement.

At the same time, compliance can’t be compromised for speed. So how do you achieve both?

We believe the answer lies in combining the right technology with the right support.

Why We Has Partnered with Credas

That’s why Cinch has developed a strategic partnership with Credas.

Credas provides digital Right to Work and identity verification services specifically designed to support businesses including recruitment agencies. Its recruitment proposition extends beyond Right to Work into areas including biometric identity verification, background screening, bank account verification, eSignatures, configurable workflows and data capture.

The platform can also be white-labelled, allowing recruitment businesses to put their own brand at the centre of the candidate experience.

For us, however, technology was only part of the attraction. We wanted something that could form part of a much wider compliance conversation with our clients. Because we don’t want to simply introduce another supplier. We want to help agencies build better processes.

Good Onboarding Should Protect the Business and the Candidate

Candidate onboarding is sometimes treated as the administration that happens between placement and payroll. We think that’s a mistake, it’s actually one of the most important points in the recruitment journey.

This is where you establish identity – Right to Work, candidate information, issue contracts and documentation, obtaining banking details and ultimately the information that flows into payroll. Get those foundations right and everything that follows becomes stronger. Get them wrong and problems can follow a worker throughout their journey.

Digital identity technology can make parts of this much more efficient. Government guidance recognises IDVT as a means through which eligible digital identity checks can be undertaken using appropriately certified providers. But technology alone doesn’t create a good onboarding process.

It still needs good people, good procedures and good governance around it.

That’s Where We See Our Role

Our partnership with Credas allows us to provide agencies with access to the technology and verification services they need. But that’s only the beginning, our aim is to sit alongside the agency and understand:

  • What does your current onboarding journey actually look like?
  • Where are the risks?
  • Where are your people spending unnecessary time?
  • Are your compliance processes working operationally, or do they simply look good on paper?
  • And what happens once that worker moves from onboarding into payroll?

That’s where our relationship with clients can become much broader. Cinch isn’t looking to become another supplier, we’re looking to become a compliance partner.

Because Onboarding Doesn’t Stop at Right to Work

There’s another important point here, Right to Work isn’t an isolated compliance exercise.

Think about the worker journey

Identity → Right to Work → Onboarding → Placement → Payroll → Payslip → Ongoing compliance

Each stage is connected and this is where our wider work at Cinch becomes particularly valuable. We’re increasingly helping recruitment businesses look at the complete journey rather than dealing with each compliance requirement in isolation.

We’ve already spoken about the importance of payroll transparency and our involvement with veriPAYE. Our partnership with Credas allows us to move that conversation further upstream.

From verifying what happens when someone is paid… to helping provide confidence in who is being onboarded in the first place.

That’s a much more powerful compliance conversation.

Talk to us.

We can discuss your current onboarding arrangements, explain where Credas may fit and, importantly, look beyond the technology at the wider compliance journey.

There doesn’t need to be a hard sell. Sometimes the best starting point is simply understanding where you are today and where you want to be tomorrow.

Because we don’t want Cinch to be another name on your supplier list.

We want to be the partner you call when you need clarity.
