MCG Construction, part of The MCG Group has launched MCG FastTrack, an accelerated training programme supporting those in the early stages of their careers to become resourcers, account managers and recruitment consultants in just 8 weeks.
With more than half of job losses during COVID having been among the under-25s, this ambitious project is the brain- child of the former Randstad CEO and serves to provide much needed opportunities for entry level professionals to get best-in-class, paid training that they would struggle to find elsewhere.
Recently appointed MD, Mark Bull, said of the scheme: “MCG Construction is becoming a real challenger in the construction recruitment arena and I’m tremendously excited about this new initiative as we’re opening up opportunities to both young people and those with transferable sales skills in a Covid-impacted working world. It’s no secret that young people have been the most affected by Covid redundancies and my hope with this programme is that we can quickly set them up on the path to a great career in recruitment.
“Similarly, the hospitality, retail and entertainment sectors were economically worst hit and there may be transferable sales skills available in these areas where jobseekers wish to move into recruitment,” he added. “We’d also love to see anyone who perhaps works within construction but wants to use their ‘on the ground’ experience in an office-based environment. This really is an opportunity wide open to those who want to take their first steps into the construction recruitment world and join a Group with extremely ambitious growth plans over the next five years.”

As a FastTrack employee, participants will be given the best training to quickly get up to speed with:
- Understanding Construction (the language, the role types, the companies we work with etc)
- Recruitment Sales (how to #begreat at your job)
- Systems (how to use our systems properly to get the best out of them)
- Compliance
By the end of the two months, participants are expected to be fully functioning members of the team. Applications are welcome from any age group and level of experience.
