BondMoran, specialist recruiters within the senior accountancy market are back as they take over the New Course at Essendon Golf and Country Club in aid of cancer charities.
Their golf day is never boring with day-glow bunkers, loads of quirky personalised touches, an ice cream van serving pink ice cream in pink cones (with the players own faces on them!), a pop-up cocktail bar called “The Pink Flamingo” serving….pink cocktails, and even a Mariachi band hiding by the 10th tee with golfers having to wear moustaches and sombreros whilst hitting their long drives (pink tequila shots are optional!).
Add drones, refreshments from the very pink golf carts, a candy floss stand and several ‘hidden’ challenges with helpers jumping out from the bushes in camouflage outfits or running across fairways in animal costumes and you’ll need to be on your game not to be distracted.
There’s also a DJ on the course, a roaming crowd cheering on unsuspecting golfers and celebrating successful putts, trick shot shows from an internationally acclaimed golfer, celebrity cut outs to replace the boring ‘corporate’ signs around the course, greens protected by a variety of unexpected challenges with the help of the incredible on-course team at Essendon and there’s plenty of other silliness around the course….always on a pink theme!
Finishing off with a BBQ whilst Lawrence Bond (the MD) does a magic show in his pink suit of course and the most prestigious prizes for the silliest photos and the best team names!
And the real prize that the players all compete for…The coveted Pink Jacket signed by previous years winners!
Although the day is complimentary, the players (who have to wear pink) always ‘dig deep’ for the charity, and it’s become a particularly unusual and bright highlight of the recruitment industry’s golfing calendar.
