Kyloe Partners appoints Chief Financial Officer

Bullhorn-specialist recruitment technology provider, Kyloe Partners, has appointed Stephen Shorter as Chief Financial Officer. He will report to founder and CEO Raymond Pennie and take on operational finance and people leadership as the company scales its suite of products and solutions across the UK, US and APAC markets.

Shorter joins after 12 years at Cobalt Recruitment, an award-winning, international recruiter across the built environment, where he served first as CFO and then as CEO. He has also served on the Representative Committee of APSCo, giving him direct experience of the commercial, compliance and technological pressures facing staffing and recruitment businesses today.

“Stephen has run finance and operations inside a recruitment business at scale, and he understands the pace this sector moves at,” said Raymond Pennie. “As we grow our footprint across the UK, US and APAC, that combination of sector fluency and operational discipline is exactly what we need.”

Stephen added: “Recruitment is going through fast technological change, and I know from my time procuring IT solutions and consulting that a lot of vendors over-promise and under-deliver. What I bring is a genuine, on-the-ground understanding of what recruiters actually need to be successful, built over my time running finance and then the whole business at Cobalt, plus a compliance-first mindset from my experience with on the APSCo Representative Committee. Clients can trust that the change Kyloe brings will be the right change, delivered properly.”

The appointment follows a broader restructuring of Kyloe’s finance function, with Co-Founder and former CFO, Simone Pennie moving into a newly created Executive Director and Company Secretary role.
