Omnicom Media Group (OMG) UK is celebrating its 100th successful placement in its programme promoting accessibility in digital careers, run in collaboration with WYK Digital, a non-profit social enterprise in partnership with The Prince’s Trust. The announcement marks a significant milestone for OMG UK and WYK Digital, highlighting their dedication to supporting under-served and under-represented young people, with over 80 per cent of OMG’s programme trainees hailing from minority backgrounds.
Manchester-born Hatim Ahmed secured the role of Display Assistant at MG OMD, becoming their 100th successful placement. A three-month course commissioned by the Prince’s Trust helped Ahmed realise his true calling to work in digital marketing, and with the help of WYK, he secured his placement at MG OMD. The landmark 100th signing symbolises WYK Digital’s enduring commitment and its meaningful collaboration with OMG UK, which has been a devoted supporter of the programme and played a crucial role in the programme’s success for the last three and a half years.

Of OMG UK’s successful placements so far, 80 per cent are from minority backgrounds, 44 per cent don’t have a degree, 69 per cent are female, and 18 per cent have further support needs. After completing the training programme, WYK Digital actively assists its trainees in securing employment opportunities.

By providing opportunities and mentoring to WYK Digital’s candidates, OMG UK has demonstrated its dedication to nurturing talent and promoting inclusivity within the digital marketing field.
Through strategic partnerships with organisations like OMG UK, WYK Digital strives to bridge the gap and foster diversity within the digital marketing landscape.
