After 7 years, Paratus People, the leaders in IoT and Video Technology Talent Solutions, have rebranded to become 5Values Consulting Group. The new business is built around a vision to be the power behind brands who support, find, and showcase the people who make technology a force for good in the world.
Tom White who founded Paratus People in 2016 has been a recipient of a number of notable awards and accolades over the years, including a National Business Awards Future Champion and high placements in the Recruitment International Top 250, Recruiter Fast 50 and Recruiter Hot 100. “The pandemic changed us, it changed me,” he says. “It really made me reflect on who I am as a person, the business I want to grow and the direction I should be taking.
“Over time, you realise if you aren’t helping fix the problems, you are part of the problem,” he continues. “We have not been kind to our planet, and we all have responsibility to do more. Some people have inspired me on this journey, but none more than Yvon Chouinard of Patagonia – it’s simply not enough to sign off a cheque for CSR, you need to give your time, because after all that cannot ever be replaced.”
“We realise profit is for good, but it’s nothing unless it has impact.”
Paratus People rebrand to 5Values is an extremely poignant time for the business who have also branched out into four sub-brands. 5Values Consulting Group powers 5V Tech – an IoT and Deep Tech Talent Solutions Business, 5V Video – a Video technology and OTT talent solutions business and 5V Media – a business focusing solely on events, content, and digital media.
There are changes in leadership too as Tom moves into a new role as CEO of 5Values Consulting Group and Rick Towers is appointed as Managing Director. Rick has worked within businesses with up to £4bn turnover and led businesses from start-up, right up to £70m turnover both nationally and internationally.
White says the business change started with his desire to build a company charter, highlighting principles and creating a business ‘DNA’. “We then took this idea further and made it part of our new name and ethos,” he explains. “So, we’ve created five core values that underpin everything we do moving forward. Isaac Newton once said, ‘If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulder of giants’ We liked this – a lot. The five values reflect Isaac’s name: Inclusive, Sustainable, Attentive, Authentic and Considerate.”
At the end of the day, however, while the business is rebranding, 5Values will still deliver the same service to its clients: “It’s what we’ve always done,” says White, “it’s just this time, we’re putting our values where our mouth is.”
New Mananging Director, Rick Towers added: “I’m delighted to join 5Values at such an exciting time, as we rebrand and refocus to accelerate our market-leading proposition. The focus on our purpose and values and the impact we have, helping global organisations find talent that harnesses technology as a force for good is refreshing, rewarding and pioneering. Exciting times ahead to lead the 5Values journey.”
