Executive search firm Starfish Search has expanded its Civil Society practice with the appointment of a new partner. Linda Griffiths joins to lead the specialist practice following a respected career in executive search.
The Civil Society practice is marked for growth within Starfish Search, with Linda tasked with leading and further developing a substantial executive search practice which appoints CEOs and Directors for influential charities, trusts and foundations, NGOs, social enterprises, arts, culture and heritage, and government-backed non-profits.
Her appointment is one in a series of moves to join the firm planned for 2025. Linda started in the practice in September following 11 years at Prospectus, where she focused exclusively on the civil society area, working on leadership and board appointments. Prior to this she worked within the charity sector as a fundraiser.
Katy Giddens, Client Relationship Director at Starfish Search, said: “Strengthening our civil society practice in response to growing demand and a changing environment is a major strategic objective for Starfish Search. Bringing Linda on board is an important step towards our business becoming market leader in this space. We have placed increasing numbers of charity leaders in recent years and see huge potential to go further in supporting the sector by working with more non-profit organisations to strengthen their leadership teams.”
Linda added: “This is an incredibly important time for the charity sector, as organisations face additional pressures caused by a complicated external environment and rising operating costs. Organisations need clear leadership and skilled people in key leadership roles, which is where executive search adds significant value.
“I’ve watched Starfish Search go from strength to strength in recent years and have long respected the credibility of its leadership team. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to lead its outstanding civil society practice and look forward to bringing fresh insights, and new networks and perspectives, gained throughout my time in the sector itself and with other search firms.”
