Sellick Joins Graphite

Jo Sellick has joined Graphite Partners, a recruitment firm which specialises in corporate finance and private equity search, as chairman. His role there will be to support founder and MD, Max Williamson, scale the company.

This is Sellick’s first formal board appointment since exiting from Sellick Partnership. Sellick took his own business from one-person to 125 headcount and six offices before selling a majority stake to French conglomerate Samsic in 2018, and leaving there company in 2024.

Graphite Partners is based in Manchester and Sheffield, has a presence in London and services clients across the UK. It has been going for ten years and has ambitious plans for the future.

“Max and the team have built a stellar track record over the past decade and have impressive plans for future expansion,” said Sellick. “There’s a blue-chip client base, a great culture and the right attitude and approach to doing business. Really strong foundations.

“I’m very pleased to be joining and help the company take its next steps. I’ll be working closely to further develop and implement the business strategy, and turn their ambition into reality.”

Max Williamson, managing director at Graphite Partners, said: “I’m really pleased to announce that Jo has joined Graphite Partners as Chairman.

The next ten years are about building on that foundation – taking the business in new strategic directions – and Jo has come on board to help us deliver that vision.”

Graphite already has long-term relationships with high profile private equity firms, international investment banks, as well as high-growth boutique advisory firms across the UK and internationally. It places at all levels from entry-level professionals to seasoned partners and managing directors.
