SPG Resourcing Targets £11m Turnover

Leeds-based technology recruitment firm SPG Resourcing is targeting turnover of £11m within two years after completing a management buyout from The Solution Performance Group.

The deal, completed for an undisclosed sum, sees co-founder Sam Hameed take control of the business, which expects to generate £5m in revenue this year.

SPG Resourcing plans to increase its workforce from 10 to 18 by the end of 2027 as it expands its operations in the UK and US.

The company, which specialises in technology recruitment, has recorded nine consecutive months of growth in 2026 despite difficult trading conditions across parts of the recruitment industry. The buyout will enable SPG Resourcing to operate independently of its former parent company and invest in new recruitment markets, including life sciences and deep technology.

“We’ve spent several years building the business and the management buyout gives us the freedom to decide where we invest and how we grow,” said Hameed. “We’re on track to achieve £5m in revenue this year and want to increase that to £11m within the next two years. It’s a significant target, but we believe there’s a real opportunity to develop the business in the UK and overseas.”

SPG Resourcing will retain its Leeds headquarters and recently opened Manchester office, with plans to establish a presence in London. The US is a key focus for the business, which is looking to increase recruitment in specialist technology sectors.

The company expects most of its growth to come from expanding its existing operations, recruiting experienced consultants and establishing teams focused on individual markets.

Mr Hameed said attracting and retaining staff would be central to achieving its targets. “Recruitment is a people business, and we need to attract good consultants who want to develop their careers with us.

“We want people to have the opportunity to build their own specialist markets, take on more responsibility and benefit from the success of the business,” he added. “We’ve grown by developing long-term relationships with clients and understanding the sectors they operate in. That’s how we intend to continue.”

The management buyout will also allow The Solution Performance Group to concentrate on its deep-technology operations.
