Digital checks help combat Right to Work ID fraud, but recruiters still need to be vigilant. Tony Machin, CEO at TrustID and chair of the Association of Document Validation Professionals describes what recruiters should be looking out for.

All businesses in the UK are required by law to perform Right to Work (RtW) checks for every new hire. The guidance underwent major changes last year. Six months on, most recruiters are aware of what’s required of them around RtW checks. However, some may still be concerned about whether Identity Document Validation Technology, or IDVT, adds unnecessary cost and complexity to their checks. TrustID spoke to a range of recruiters about these concerns and the benefits that using IDVT gives agencies.
