As International Recruiters Day 2020 arrives, the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) has taken the opportunity to celebrate the sector and its resilience in the face of the coronavirus, and highlighted the key role recruiters will play in helping the country recover from the damage of COVID-19.
Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCo, commented:
“I’d like to use this year’s International Recruiters Day to commend the entire staffing sector for its reaction to the current pandemic. While our research has shown that recruitment companies in almost every sector have been severely impacted by COVID-19, we are truly encouraged by the reactions we have seen.
“We’d like to thank our members for being so open about the situation on the ground and engaging and informing us about what is happening at their companies, whether that be through surveys or webinars. This has allowed us to use real-time data to successfully lobby the Government.”
“While this is a difficult time for all involved, there’s no doubt that once the worst of the pandemic has passed, the recruitment sector will be crucial in getting UK plc back on its feet – and we are sure that all recruiters, whether currently working or temporarily out on furlough, will continue the excellent work they have been doing.”
