Manchester firm confirmed as fastest growing UK recruitment consultancy

Maxwell Bond has been confirmed as the fastest growing recruitment consultant in the UK by LinkedIn after remarkable successes throughout the pandemic, a string of recent key hires, multiple promotions, and a move to a larger premises.

Following a 460 per cent brand growth in 2020 and 178 per cent in 2021, the specialist tech & digital recruiter based in Manchester has enjoyed 1,508 per cent growth in job and page views on LinkedIn in 2022 alone. This online awareness complements the most successful ever six months for Maxwell Bond in the first half of 2022, with 19 new hires made in this time, allowing the firm to build on the consistent growth it has experienced year-on-year since its inception in 2016 and scale its UK and European operations.

Amongst this exceptional growth, Maxwell Bond has hired three Directors, with a combined 40+ years of recruitment experience, to head up new divisions. Gareth Hughes joins as Associate Director of Business Change and Transformation, responsible for sourcing business change and project management positions for clients. His extensive leadership, sales, and recruitment experience in this area will be a key driver behind this department’s success as the company looks to diversify.

Steph Livingstone brings 15 years’ experience in recruiting across private and public sector clients into the new role of Associate Director of Client Services, with additional responsibility for developing Maxwell Bond’s German function. Simon Clarke will front the company’s new Digital Marketing department, specialising in marketing & analytics, paid advertising, SEO, social media and content marketing.

In recent months, Maxwell Bond has additionally welcomed Dan Rowland as Head of Practice for Infrastructure, and Cloud & DevOps, helping build on an established division that hires technical consultants, engineers, cloud technology specialists, Heads of IT and more.

Further expertise comes in the shape of Business Development Manager Andy Holt, who will support the growth of Maxwell Bond’s Client Services and Talent Partnership sectors, additionally boasting six years’ experience in IR35, while Lauren Naylor joins as Learning and Development Manager. She will work alongside Mel Venner, the firm’s Head of Performance, to help train staff at all levels, from graduates to Directors, concentrating on wellbeing, interpersonal skills and equipping people with skills to further their career. Lauren is also a trained mental health first aider.

Meanwhile, a flurry of internal promotions demonstrates Maxwell Bond’s ambition and commitment to its staff, including of Riana Butler to Head of Practice for Product, BA, and UX Recruitment Consultancy for the UK. Having won and worked with key north west businesses such as Stagecoach, Apadmi, and KnownOrigin, she has built and upskilled a team of six and cemented her reputation as the region’s leading Product recruitment consultant.

This remarkable expansion has seen Maxwell Bond outgrow its current office in just 18 months, when it had planned to remain in place for three years, and prompted the need to move to bigger premises. A new ten-year lease on an office that is three-to-four times larger, in Tootal Buildings, the prestigious Grade II-listed property located at the heart of Manchester’s vibrant Oxford Street, will provide the company with longevity as it looks ahead to a prosperous second half of the year and beyond, with the aim to double its headcount, from 37 people at the beginning of the year to more than 70, including significant investment in its European operation.
