Award-winning not-for-profit People Like Us (PLU) has announced that all recruitment services previously delivered by Braver Talent will now fall under the People Like Us banner.
Braver Talent was founded to challenge inequity in PR and comms recruitment, building more representative teams and supporting underrepresented professionals into meaningful roles. Since its inception, Braver has placed senior diverse talent at a breadth of award-winning agencies, challenger brands, and charities over the past two years.
This decision comes at a moment of significant growth for People Like Us, which earlier this year launched its first Partner Programme with leading agencies, including The Romans, Splendid Communications, Harvard, Words + Pixels, Smarts, Hope&Glory, Manifest, PrettyGreen, Worth Your While, and Censuswide. PLU also celebrated going global, hosting its first international event at Cannes with the Financial Times, where its Name the Bias campaign was awarded a Cannes Lions.
The consolidation follows a string of high-profile advocacy successes. PLU’s campaigning on ethnicity pay gap reporting was cited in the King’s Speech in 2023 and has continued to gather momentum as the draft bill consultation was completed in summer 2025. Meanwhile, the organisation’s Autocorrected Pay Gap and Name the Bias campaigns have won multiple industry awards and helped push workplace discrimination onto the national stage.
As part of this next chapter, People Like Us also unveils its brand-new website – designed in collaboration with Manifest – which launches today. At its heart is the new PLU Jobs Board, allowing employers to showcase roles directly to a diverse audience for a small fee. Separate from PLU’s broader recruitment services, the jobs board offers a simple, accessible way for organisations to connect with underrepresented talent pools.
Sheeraz Gulsher, co-founder of People Like Us, said: “Braver showed what was possible when you put equity at the centre of recruitment, and now by bringing it into People Like Us we can supercharge our ambitions of making work fairer for all. We’ve built momentum with our Partner Programme, we’ve taken our message global at Cannes, and we’re making real strides for policy change at the highest levels of government. This move ensures recruitment doesn’t just fill roles – it fuels the fight for a fairer workplace.”
“Sheeraz and I founded Braver Talent because we knew the industry needed something different,” added Darain Faraz, co-founder of People Like Us. “We wanted to be unapologetically bold in how we supported talent and challenged the system. Now, with PLU’s growth, it makes sense to bring everything together under one roof. Every placement we make through recruitment will directly fund our advocacy, mentoring, and campaigning work. That’s a win for candidates, a win for employers, and a win for workplace equity.”
