The hunt for talent across Europe has grown exponentially for financial services, and even with a growing workforce of 500,000 in Germany alone, many financial businesses are still under pressure to ensure they get the right talent in quickly to meet heavy demand. Phaidon International is meeting this demand by opening a new office in Frankfurt. The office will run under its financial services talent brand, Selby Jennings.
German banking plays an integral role to the country’s economy, contributing to almost four per cent of total domestic GDP. Despite the pandemic, there are no signs of the financial services sector slowing down, with many international banks positioning their European hubs in Frankfurt, causing even more of a talent shortage in the area. As the world moves towards a ‘new-normal’ of post-pandemic business, Frankfurt expects to see a further influx of financial service jobs across all seniorities and specialisms.
Selby Jennings in Europe saw demand for business critical talent – across sales and trading, investment banking, wealth management, and private equity – increase by more than 75 per cent YOY as clients sought to position themselves post-pandemic to exploit growth opportunities.
