St. Albans-based technology, software, and digital recruiter Understanding Recruitment will take its employees on an all-inclusive holiday to Palma, Mallorca, following a ground-breaking 2021-22 after a challenging period for business in 2020, and to celebrate its 15th birthday.
The company holiday will see all staff who accept the invite enjoy a three-day break in Mallorca staying at a four-star hotel, with activities including a Catamaran cruise and water sports activities, a paella cooking competition, dinner at Palma’s renowned Yacht Club, and more.
The last year saw the company surpass many milestones financially and grow to over 100 people in the UK and US, and for directors, Chris Jackson and Dale Swords, there was no better reward than to invite its St. Albans team on holiday for a break in the sun.
“2020 was undeniably tough on the industry and our employees,” said Chris Jackson, founding director. “The collective reaction we witnessed across the whole company was outstanding. We’ve bounced back to be in an incredible position to expand even more as an organisation and I couldn’t be prouder of every single member of the team.
“This trip is to say a huge thank you to everyone for their exceptional performance and give them well-earned relaxation time in a beautiful setting,” he added.
“Our team are hugely committed to their work and doing a brilliant job for their customers as well as being hugely supportive to each other, something I’m hugely proud of,” commented Dale Swords, founding director.
“We take our responsibility as their employer incredibly seriously and alongside their loyalty and effort, we’re continuously looking to support and improve their welfare and mental health. Ultimately, we want them to be as happy as they can be within their role and in life.”
Founded in 2007, understanding Recruitment has a team of over 90 employees in the UK, and works closely with clients to match them with sought-after developers in software and other tech niches looking for the next step in their careers. Previous trips for employees have included destinations such as Las Vegas, Miami, Monaco, Barbados, South of France, and more – this is the first time all employees from all departments regardless of job title (including HR and operations-based roles) will come regardless of targets.
