Ten Consecutive Years

Brookson has passed the FCSA Code of Compliance review for an historic 10th year. The review is designed to ensure that all FCSA accredited members are providing compliant advice and employment support to the highest standard.

Passing all three reviews: Limited Company Accountancy Services, Umbrella Employment Services and Self Employed / CIS Services, means that Brookson is one of very few businesses to pass the stringent set of reviews which cover all aspects of business, ranging from financial stability to systems and processes to ensure the company fully complies with relevant legislation.

Matt Fryer, Compliance Director at Brookson, said: “It is no mean feat to have maintained our membership for 10 straight years and we are committed to continue to help drive up standards in our industry and help FCSA to continue to flourish.”

Phil Pluck, newly appointed CEO of the FCSA, said: “I am delighted that Brookson have hit the impressive milestone of 10 years of continuous accreditation and membership. It demonstrates that Brookson takes compliance and operating standards seriously.

“FCSA accreditation is difficult to achieve and all of our members have to hit the gold standard in terms of compliance and operating processes. This can only go to assuring contractors that their interests and employment rights are being well cared for.

“For Brookson to have achieved this standard for 10 years in succession is a well-earned credit to them. Well done Brookson.”

Compliance needed now more than ever

With the upcoming changes to IR35 in the private sector in April 2021, finding a provider who can support the flexible supply chain with compliant, market leading solutions is vital. The industry needs to ensure that everyone is joined up and working together to see these changes implemented correctly and fairly for all parties, whilst making sure compliance remains a central focus:

  • Contractors now more than ever need a truly compliant, joined up solution that enables them to freely move between Umbrella and Limited when they need, whilst receiving proactive in-year advice on both with a combined personal tax return process.
  • Recruiters will have seen an increase in non-complaint providers popping up in the market in recent months. FCSA Accredited Members represent a ready-made Preferred Supplier List (PSL) for those Recruiters who do not have a PSL or looking to audit their existing one, ensuring that they only work with fully compliant firms to support them.
  • End Hirers are new to the world of IR35 and need to find legal experts that can educate their managers on the complexities of the legislation and support them with the audit process. In order to mitigate the risk to the supply chain that these changes undoubtably bring, systems and processes will need to be implemented to help centrally manage their off -payroll workforce.
