Wiltshire based independent recruiter 24-7 Staffing is celebrating achieving 15 very successful years in business. Created in 2004, by directors Julian and Melody Thompson, the company has gone from strength to strength. It started life in rented offices in Chippenham, but now operates from its own Chippenham headquarters and also has branches in Bristol and Salisbury. Having initially serviced the driving sector, the company has expanded to cover commercial, industrial and – most recently – healthcare.

Over the 15 years, it has registered more than 12,000 candidates and worked with over 300 clients across these four sectors. These include civil engineering and waste management company MJ Church, Wiltshire Council, housing and support charity Olpa, supply chains solution company XPO Logistics, landscaping firm idverde, and fundraising services provider Woods Valldata.

“We’re delighted and proud to be marking this milestone and to have had so many of our clients, candidates and friends coming along to celebrate with us,” said Julian Thompson, ‘but we are not resting on our laurels. To ensure our continued success, we will carry on making significant investments in the business and in internal staff development, because we recognise the important role they play in helping us to achieve shared goals with our clients and candidates. In a challenging recruitment market, where there is low unemployment, we are continually looking at ways to improve, develop and grow our business.”

24-7 Staffing has 28 staff, some of whom have been with the firm for more than ten years and contributes to the local community through a wide range of charitable support.

The many accolades 24-7 Staffing has garnered include winning Wiltshire Business and Chippenham Business annual awards, it is a long-standing member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and has been a long-time supporter of Business Against Poverty.

It is a Living Wage employer, which means all staff are paid at least the Living Wage, even if they are under 25 and only entitled to the minimum wage. The directors also took the decision in 2016 to move candidates away from self-employed and umbrella companies and onto PAYE to protect the business, clients and candidates from the future risk of unpaid tax. Julian himself is a national and international CPC holder in transport management.

Co-director Melody said: “One of the main reasons we love the business is because we can change people’s lives through the work we do – that’s really worth getting up for in the morning! Our consultants derive a huge sense of satisfaction from their roles when they find the perfect match between a client and candidate.

“We feel we help to create a great sense of community among our 24-7 Staffing clients, candidates and friends and this really came across at the party, where so many people were there to support us,” she concluded.
