Leeds IT recruiter named as top inspirational company by London Stock Exchange.

The Bridge, a Leeds-based specialist IT recruitment firm has been named as one of the top companies to inspire Britain by the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The company specialises in the recruitment of tech specialists and was singled out by the LSE in its 2019 ranking of the fastest growing and most dynamic small and medium sized businesses across the UK.

The Bridge was acquired by the Morson Group in 2017. While it remains a boutique recruitment company, investment from Morson has provided The Bridge with the infrastructure to further develop its niche within the tech sector and the USPs which set it apart.

Director James Milner credits the people within the business as the driving force behind its recent success: “We’re a close-knit but growing team and the success we’ve achieved in recent years has everything to do with our talented people. We strongly believe in nurturing careers, with all directors having been with The Bridge for at least 10 years,” he said. “We’re also very relationship focused. For us, success isn’t about hitting targets, it’s about retaining and growing relationships with our customers by developing a deep understanding of their business and providing them with exactly what they need.

“It’s humbling for us, after so many years of hard work, to receive this recognition. We’re all very proud by the listing and we hope to keep up this momentum as the business continues to grow,” he said.

Further growth is planned for The Bridge, which is in the process of opening a London office as well as a specialist data analytics arm. With demand growing for tech specialists across the UK, thanks to the rise of positions in automation, data analytics and AI, it’s an exciting but challenging period for the industry.

Milner adds: “We’re facing a skills gap in the UK, with more positions out there than skilled candidates to fill them. There’s huge potential in tech as a growth market but we need to work hard to ensure young people are excited about the possibilities.”

Morson Group CEO, Ged Mason, added: “We saw something special in The Bridge and the growth, success and development that’s been achieved by the company since its acquisition has been very encouraging in what’s an incredibly dynamic and exciting sector in technology.

“Being part of the Morson Group family enables our directors and management teams to thrive, supporting them as they rise to the next level. That’s precisely what we’ve seen here: a boutique agency with a specialist niche shaking off any limitations and being recognised for its many successes.”
