Doug McCall has been appointed as the new finance director at Berry Recruitment Group (BRG). He has replaced the experienced Mike Sarson who is staying on until February 2020 to ensure a smooth handover. The national recruiter’s turnover is on course to exceed £70 million this year and the business has ambitious plans for continued growth.
Doug qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Ernst & Young and has significant experience of the industry through his time at Adecco UK&I where he held the role of divisional finance director. He is now looking to assist BRG as it develops and builds upon the 40 locations it works from across England and Wales.
“I was looking for a new challenge and after taking some time out to do some travelling heard about the opportunity at BRG,” Doug said. “I had always been interested in recruitment from my time at Ernst & Young when I had clients in that sector – one of whom I went on to join.
“Of course I knew about BRG before I heard about the role and have watched its rapid growth over the last decade or so,” he added. “All my experience to date has been with large corporates and it is refreshing to be part of fast-paced, independent company.
“It is noticeable that it is a family business and that means a great deal in terms of having more autonomy and being able to influence strategy. BRG has a superb board under the managing director Chris Chown and I am looking forward to helping them on their journey.
