Newly formed Star Recruitment eyes up UK expansion to meet growth targets.

Scotland’s leading property and construction recruitment company, BBR Services, has rebranded as Star Recruitment following the acquisition of Star Placement earlier this year.

BBR Services was founded by director, Nicholas McVeigh-Crabbe, in January 2014 with fellow director, Alistair Robin, joining later that year. Since then the company has increased its annual turnover tenfold, grown its team from three to 11 and opened offices in Glasgow and London.

Under the newly formed brand of Star Recruitment, Robin and McVeigh-Crabbe have ambitious plans to increase turnover to £2.8million by 2020, adding four new staff members, while expanding its Glasgow office and increasing its London presence to support the agency’s growing list of clients.

“It has been our continued focus on client service that has fuelled our growth to date,” said Robin, who heads up Star Recruitment’s construction division. “Under the new brand, we plan to accelerate that expansion by adding to our already impressive client base, while expanding our candidate database across both the property and construction markets respectively. We’re looking forward to a busy year ahead.”

Star Recruitment’s client list includes homebuilders and construction companies such as Stewart Milne, Balfour Beatty, Cruden Homes & Hart Builders, Cala Homes, Miller Homes, Heron Bros, as well as estate sales agents including Rettie & Co.

McVeigh-Crabbe, who leads the company’s property division, commented: “As a team of property and construction experts, we are incredibly proud of our industry leading client retention rate and the fact we are the first-choice agency for housebuilders, developers and property sales agents across Scotland.

“Under the new brand we plan to expand this property remit further with an additional focus on property management, property surveyors, architecture and legal and we look forward to expanding our UK wide client base in the process.”

Star Recruitment, which has a 98 per cent client retention rate, is headquartered in the heart of Edinburgh with offices in Glasgow and London’s Covent Garden.
