Healthier Recruitment has unveiled a new service offering, Healthier Diagnostics, which has been designed help combat the historically reactive approach to talent management within healthcare. The specialist consultancy, which only places professionals into permanent and fixed-term roles, developed the solution after it became apparent that an increasing number of clients could benefit from a greater level of assistance around strategic workforce planning.
The suite of exclusive services – which has been created with the support of expert NHS staffing strategist, Dr Keith Hurst – is designed to support Trusts and other healthcare organisations by providing them with the tools, insight and resources required to form workforce strategies that are not only cost-effective, but also provide better patient outcomes.
Elements of the offering include: in-depth cost analysis, bespoke workforce analysis, dynamic needs analysis and the exclusive ‘day in the life of’ service, where key members of staff are shadowed to gain a unique insight into the effectiveness of workforce planning strategy on the ground.
All of the products can be purchased on an individual basis or as a package.
“While agency nurses and locum doctors obviously have an important role to play in the NHS, for too long Trusts and other healthcare organisation have used contingent workers for roles which would be better filled with permanent staff,” said Michael Johnson-Ellis, co-managing director. “This has created a climate where budgets, continuity of care, patient outcomes and the wellbeing of substantive staff are all negatively impacted.
“However, while the majority of hiring managers in the sector are open to taking a longer-term approach to staffing strategy – rather than instinctively turning to agency workers to plug gaps quickly – there often needs to be an education piece around how to do this most effectively. That’s where Healthier Diagnostics comes in: a truly game-changing solution.”
Margo Leftly, co-managing director, adds: “Since the introduction of agency pay caps and changes to IR35 in the public sector, it’s becoming increasingly clear to our clients that the best way to manage staffing spend and build future-fit teams is through permanent recruitment. We’re incredibly proud that we are now able to provide a truly consultative and comprehensive offering to help internal teams to boost efficiency, manage risk and improve patient care.”
