Recruitment sector marketing specialists Marmalade Marketing has chalked up three years in the industry. Led by Jo Lee, who has almost two decades of experience, with 15 of those in the recruitment sector, the niche recruitment marketing specialist is going from strength-to-strength. The team now boast a collective sixty years in recruitment marketing, technology, content strategy and the building of powerful recruitment brands.
The team of 13, consisting of account managers, social media specialists, content writers and designers, has grown organically and produces a remarkable amount of work each day for their clients, ultimately supporting respective monthly and quarterly strategic outcomes.
Jo says: “Starting a business with a credit card, a laptop and a mobile phone is indeed a challenge, especially with two young children to care for whilst undergoing a divorce! I worked long hours for at least eighteen months, in order to focus on brand & business development.” Jo recalls banking a record thirty emails a night for morning updates to send pre the nursery & school runs – a testament to her commitment to providing the very best for Marmalade Marketing’s clients.
Jo then moved away from working with a full freelance team, to making the first permanent hire in Leah Brotherton, who has now worked at Marmalade Marketing for two years. Jo says: “Leah truly believed in the vision for the business, and both being mothers, I promised Leah a sofa to nap on for when we’d had sleepless nights, which we still have to this day!”
Marmalade now has another senior team member, Kieron Mayers. Jo says: “I previously hired Kieron ten years ago to be a member of my in-house marketing team at the time. It was his first marketing job and his drive, work ethic and pace impressed me. I knew I’d approach him to work with me again in the future, and I feel incredibly lucky that he said yes.”
Jo continues: “We’ve made a number of key hires and the core team are dedicated to delivering strategic and tactical recruitment marketing, ensuring the best possible performance for our clients. Each of our projects enable us to develop our offering for the next client. We like to experiment as a team, delivering cutting-edge content strategies to improve website performance, fresh social media strategies and corporate collateral, whilst always challenging and exciting our clients”.
“Marmalade Marketing now has a worldwide client base, through the UK, US, Asia Pacific and Australia. We shake up internal marketing functions and have a Marmalade University for mentoring internal recruitment marketers. We even help recruit internal marketers to build on the foundations of our work, which is an absolute must for our clients, as internal resources are key in maintaining the plans we put in place”.
