The recent appointment of Mark Sloan as general manager with Davidson’s Executive & Boards division in NSW has enticed some significant talent to join his team. Among those coming to Davidson are Chantelle Hocking as practice lead (government); Erin Mitchell as a principal consultant and Nicole Cain as head of research.
Sloan took his post at the start of this year and brings more than 13 years’ experience in the Australian recruitment sector; eight of those in the executive search space. “We have three new hires who have started with us this month and we have another two well-known executive search professionals joining our team around April,” Mark said. “We are finding that we are attracting very talented staff who want to be a part of a team that is growing and known in the industry as being successful.
“Davidson has enjoyed a high profile in recent years for its groundbreaking initiatives such as the Top 50 Public Sector Women Awards in NSW and Victoria and has had a lot of exposure in several national broadsheets for their regular ads for senior appointments,” he adds. “This has helped us to attract the cream of the crop and we could not be more excited about what this team will be able to achieve for our clients, our candidates and our business as a whole. This is a very exciting time to be a part of Davidson’s Executive and Boards team.”
Chantelle Hocking said she was looking forward to “working alongside highly experienced executives who know their respective markets and are confident in their value add”.
“Davidson has a unique service offering where the search practice works alongside a HR and technology consulting business, all committed to enhancing workplace performance, diversity and inclusion,” Chantelle said. “They are an Australian owned and values-based organisation, which is important to me. Davidson has a strong legacy and track record delivering C-Suite and Executive appointments in QLD and VIC markets across the private sector and government. The opportunity to be part of an exciting time of growth for the NSW practice across the three tiers of government federal, state and local is energising.”
Chantelle has more than a decade of experience in recruitment across both the private and public sectors. As she has worked within the public sector, she is well versed in understanding the government landscape and legislative requirements.
The new principal consultant with Davidson Executive & Boards (NSW) will be Erin Mitchell who will provide leadership solutions for clients operating in the infrastructure, telecommunications, transport and energy sectors.“I am excited to be a part of a fast growing firm that can provide leadership solutions to our clients, as well as workplace performance solutions through our internal HR Consulting, Boards & Advisory, and Monitor Technology practices,” Erin said. “I am also deeply impressed with the Davidson culture and their genuinely lived value of ‘don’t be too big to do the small things.’ The Group CEO Bruce Davidson personally made the effort to come and introduce himself during my first meeting with the firm, which speaks volumes to the attitude of the firm.”
Nicole Cain, who brings more than 10 years’ experience in research and execution of roles in global regional and domestic search firms, said she was looking forward to her Davidson career. “I am excited about the year ahead and the opportunity to work with Mark and Clare (McCartin Group GM Exec & Boards) to enhance and strengthen Davidson’s research and delivery capability in the Executive and Boards practice,” she said. “In terms of goals, we will develop a clear strategy and roadmap for research for 2019 which aligns with our Vision 2020 and beyond, while continuing to provide a high level of support to Davidson’s Executive & Boards clients.”
As for his plans for Davidson’s Executive & Boards (NSW), Mark said he is keen to double the numbers of staff in his team in the next 12 months continuing to “ensure we attract and hire the highest calibre of staff working in this sector”.
“This is an exciting period of growth for our team and I believe we will look back at the next 12 months very pleased with what we have achieved, working towards a vision for our company, clients and candidates,” he said.
