HMRC are currently issuing letters for conducting compliance checks into the application of the off payroll working rules for the tax year ending 5th April 2022. These letters are causing some panic and confusion in the industry.
In the first instance, we would encourage you to ask your supply chain if they have received one of these compliance check letters. If they have, do not be alarmed, it does not mean that anything is untoward, but rather that HMRC want to satisfy themselves that you are operating the off-payroll rules correctly.
With the right guidance, process and accurate determination, your position can be successfully defended. To help you get a better understanding of what this letter means and what you should do if you receive one, the IR35 experts at Kingsbridge are hosting a webinar on Tuesday 14th February at 1pm – 2pm
We’ll explain:
• What HMRC have been up to in recent months
• What the letter looks like and what it could lead to
• What you should do if you receive one of these letters
• Practical ways to mitigate your IR35 risk
